The market was launched on Sunday 23 January 2011. Our goal is to encourage inner city lifestyle, and provide a relaxed and creative space for makers to trade, and for locals and visitors to spend their weekend leisure time.

Arts on Main, is situated in The Maboneng Precinct on the east side of downtown Johannesburg. It is a hub for the city’s creative community. Developed in a converted early-1900s bonded warehouse, Arts On Main preserves the historical aspects of the building and contributes to Johannesburg’s urban regeneration. The prestigious surroundings of Arts On Main is home to Market on Main, Johannesburg’s premier food and design market.
